Enhanced resolution of aluminum and proton sites in the molecular sieve SAPO-37 by 27Al multiple quantum magic angle spinning and 1H spin echo editing NMR

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to enhance the resolution of the aluminum sites in the silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve SAPO-37 using 27Al multiple quantum (MQ) magic angle spinning NMR spectroscopy. An unexpected resolution enhancement was derived in the study of the hydroxyls in the H-SAPO-37 by 1H spin echo editing NMR and 1H(27Al) spin echo double-resonance NMR techniques. The aluminum defect sites were shown to originate either from the attack by a residual small amount of water generated during the burning out of templates at high temperature in SAPO-37 or from the initial stage of the dehydroxylation process during calcination.

Steaming of zeolite y: formation of transient AI species

Article Abstract:

Steaming at high partial pressure generates an Al MAS NMR spectrum that does not show the sharp line due to the octahedrally coordinated framework-related Al-OH. Application of a multinuclear NMR approach shows the presence of framework-related Al-OH groups in steamed zeolite Y samples.

Determination of the Al (super)T1 /Al (super)T2 ratio in MAZ zeolites using line shapes of MQ MAS NMR

Article Abstract:

Evaluation of the individual line shape of Al signals in the 1D (super)27 Al MAS NMR zeolite materials spectrum has been performed by MQ MAS NMR. Experiments have demonstrated an improved 1D MAS NMR spectrum deconvolution.
