Exciton diffusion and interfacial charge separation in meso-tetraphenylporphyrin/TiO(sub 2) bilayers: Effect of ethyl substituents

Article Abstract:

The photoinduced charge separation efficiency in porphyrin/TiO(sub 2) bilayers was determined using the time-resolved microwave conductivity technique and porphyrins investigated are unsubstituted mesotetphenylporphyrin (TPP) and meso-tetra(4-ethylphenyl)porphyrin (TEPP). Exciton diffusion lengths of 7A for TPP and 75 A for TEPP are obtained from fitting a model for the charge separation efficiency to the experimental data and the exciton diffusion coefficients, determined from the exciton diffusion length and the exciton lifetime, are found to be 2.10(Super -9) M(super 2)/s for TPP and 7.10(super -8) m(super 2)/s for TEPP.

Energy level alignment at metal-octaethylporphyrin interfaces

Article Abstract:

A study is presented on the electronic structure of copper-octaethylporphyrin (CuEOP) adsorbed on three metal surfaces by means of ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). The demonstration of the effect of side groups on the energy level alignment at the organic-metal interface reveals that surface-dependent work function shifts are slightly larger than those for tetraphenylporphyrins on metallic substrates.

Strong enhancement of the two-photon absorption of tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin diacid in water upon aggregation

Article Abstract:

The study aims on influence of aggregation on the two-proton absorption (TPA) properties of H4TPPS(super 2-) in water. The TPA properties are characterized by the open aperture Z-scan technique and the ultrafast two-proton absorption spectroscopy with white light continuum probe (TPA-WLCP) technique.
