Fast photoinduced electron transfer from polyalkyl- to polyfluoro-metalloporphyrins in lipid bilayer membranes

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine direct electrochemical proof for photoinduced porphyrin anion-cation charge separation between Mg-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin and Mg-magnesium octaethylporphyrin. Experimental results indicated that photoinduced intermolecular electron transfer from the polyalkyl to polyfluoro-metalloporphyrins in the lipid bilayers correlated with a second-order rate constant.

Adsorptions of Ni8 cluster on the regular and defect sites of the MgO (001) surface

Article Abstract:

The adsorption of Ni8 clusters on the anionic (Mg25O (sub 25) (super 0/+/2+,), F (sub 8) (Super 0/+/2+)) and cationic (Mg24O(sub 25)(super0/-/2-), V(sub 8)(super 0/-02-)) vacancies, as well as on the regular sites (Mg25O25, Mg2+ and NiMg24O25, Ni2+) of the MgO(001) surface is investigated at the PW91/DND level of density functional theory. The electronic property of the vacancies is analyzed.

Electroreduction of oxygen in a series of room temperature ionic liquids composed of group 15-centered cations and anions

Article Abstract:

The electrochemical reduction of dioxygen is reported in the four room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) based on group 15-centered cations and anions, which are used as electrolytes. Voltametric and chronoamperometric data are analyzed against the appropriate theoretical models to extract a full set of thermodynamic and kinetic parameters for the electrochemical couple.
