Few-atomic silver clusters in zeolites: ab initio MO LCAO calculation and optical spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Energy characteristics and electronic transitions are obtained for the neutral and ionized structures in a series of Ag8 clusters of different geometry by means of MO LCAO (molecular orbital with a linear combination of atomic orbital) RHF and UHF ab initio method. The most probable model for Ag8 clusters incorporated in erionite and mordenite is selected and the structure of this model is similar to the structure obtained from the EXAFS measurements.

Metallic clusters and color changes in silver-exchanged zeolites: (super 109)Ag solid state NMR and optical studies

Article Abstract:

A solid-state (super 109)Ag spectroscopy to probe molecular dynamics and silver environment in a series of silver-exchanged zeolites are applied as they are carried through a hydration/dehydration/rehydration cycle. A chemical shift that is induced by surface silver cations and a knight shift produced by the conduction electrons of metallic silver particles in dehydrated samples of Ag-Rho are observed.

Electrochemistry of zeolites on thickness shear mode oscillators

Article Abstract:

Electrochemical studies of thickness shear mode (TSM) acoustic wave oscillators coated with zeolites are described. The results indicate that the silver deposit formed via the reduction of silver ions originally within the zeolite phase mechanically couples the zeolite film to underlying substrate.
