Folding of ubiquitin: A simple model describes the strange kinetics

Article Abstract:

A simple kinetic model is introduced that describes the experimental data, based on lattice model studies and includes a semicompact globule, off- and on-pathway intermediates, and a native state as possible contributing states. Comparing the theoretical solutions with experimental results, both the rate constants determining the transitions between the states of the system and the relative free energies of the states are estimated.
