Formation and spectroscopic manifestation of silver clusters on silver bromide surfaces

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the formation and spectroscopic manifestation of silver clusters on silver bromide surfaces. The objective is to define the nature and function of the various reduction R-sensitization centers. Results based on low-temperature optical emission and absorption techniques, optically detected magnetic resonance methods and computational methods indicate that the spectroscopically prominent centers are silver dimers in two different surface configurations.

Study of reactions of silver and sulfur clusters

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the reactions between silver and sulfur clusters using a laser double ablation reactor. The reactions of clusters were examined in the gas phase using different experimental conditions. Results indicated that by laser ablation, the silver and sulfur samples were vaporized before clustering occurs. Findings also showed that sulfur atoms can easily bond to each other to form molecules with undetermined atom numbers.

Two-dimensional condensation and reorientation of the bromide salt of the heptyl viologen cation radical at the Hg/DMSO interface

Article Abstract:

The two types of two-dimensional phase on Hg, formed by heptyl viologen cation radical (HV(super .+)) in DMSO containing Br- ions are examined. HV can assume a planar conformation relative to the surface or reorient into a conformation where the bipyridine group lies edge-on or tilted relative to the electrode surface. It is shown that the (HV(super .+)) and Br- ions take part in a 1:1 ratio in the two phases.
