Four-level optical line shape of a single molecule coupled to a single tunneling two-level system

Article Abstract:

A density-matrix theory for the four-level system consisting of a single optical two-level system (OTLS) coupled to a single two-level system tunneling along a vibrational coordinate (VTLS) is proposed. Even as phonons induce jumping rates of the VTLS, coherent tunneling has to be considered explicitly because the Born-Oppenheimer potential of the tunnel variable might change upon optical excitation.

Multicolor single-molecule spectroscopy with alternating laser excitation for the investigation of interactions and dynamics

Article Abstract:

A confocal multicolor single-molecule spectroscopy is developed with optimized detection sensitivity for studying biomolecular interactions and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between more than two molecules. The analysis has shown the ability to study correlated molecular movements by monitoring many distances within a biomarker complex simultaneously.

Excitonic states in photosystem II reaction center

Article Abstract:

The exciton spectrum for reaction center (RC) is calculated using the coordinates determined for Photosystem II. The calculations confirm that the general result of the multimer (MM) model that the Franck-Condon excited states of RC is distributed on several chl and pheo molecules.
