Feidal GmbH has brought on stream a new production facility for water-based coatings in Dresden. The plant produces heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings and coatings for plant engineering and rolling stock makers. Feidal already produced solvent-based coatings in Dresden.

GERMANY: LAFARGE GIVES UP UNIT TO FEIDAL
Article Abstract:
The Lafarge group of France has sold German Cologne-based Pro Bauprodukte und Farben GmbH to Feidal Lacke + Farben GmbH of Duisburg with effect from 1 June 2000. Pro Bauprodukte und Farben produces latex paints and adhesives and strengthens the position of Feidal in the architectural paints market. Feidal produces also industrial varnishes and anti-corrosion coatings.

GERMANY: FEIDAL EXPANDS IN THE NORTH, EAST

German Duisburg-based coatings manufacturer Feidal GmbH Lacke + Farben is to make Oldenburg its centre for architectural paints and wood scumbles, while the Duisburg plant specialises in latex paints. In a deal backdated to the beginning of 2001, Feidal took over the Oldenburg-based company Lackfabrik de Wit & Janssen GmbH & Co KG / Passat Farben, a specialist for can coatings. Recently Feidal brought on stream a new production facility for coatings for rolling stock in Dresden.
