GSK joins pharma rush to cut costs

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is implementing massive cost-cutting measures under the 'Operational Excellence' program . The company will increase its outsourcing efforts, and is expecting to save an additional 1 billion euros annually on top of the plan to save 1.2 billion euros/year. GSK other ongoing and planned efforts to cut costs are discussed.

NPIL Pharma plans cuts at Morpeth

Article Abstract:

NPIL Pharma, to reduce costs and maintain market competency, has announced that it is planning to cut jobs at its Morpeth, UK site. The contract manufacturing subsidiary of Nicholas Piramal India plans to reduce the 400 workers at the UK site by 70. The scope of the job cut, as well as NPIL Pharma's financial performance, are discussed.
