Generalized principles of unchanging total concentration

Article Abstract:

The conditions under which either the principle of unchanging diffusivity weighted total species concentration or the principle of unchanging diffusivity weighted total atomic concentration can be applied, are studied. It is concluded that if either of the new generalized principles can be applied, it can be used to eliminate one of the equations in the system of governing equations describing mass transport of multiple reacting species.

Pore size or geometry: Which determines the shape and inverse-shape selective adsorption of alkane isomers?

Article Abstract:

The adsorption of pure pentane (C(sub 5)) isomers and their ternary mixture is simulated in a series of carbon nanoslits. The entropy effects lead to a large adsorptive separation among the C(sub 5) isomers from their mixture and similar behavior is observed from the simulation of C(sub 5) adsorption in carbon nanotubes with variation in pore size.

Structural and electronic characterizations of two isomers of Ce@C82

Article Abstract:

The structural and electronic characterization of two isomers of Ce@C82 has been determined by power X-ray diffractions with synchrotron radiation. The study helps in developing new materials and devices with the isomer-separated metallofullerenes and opens a way to the chemistry of the isomers of metallofullerenes.
