High-resolution scanning transmission electron tomography and elemental analysis of zeptogram quantities of heterogeneous catalyst

Article Abstract:

The three-dimensional distribution of bimetallic nanocatalysts of individual catalytic nanoparticles was achieved by using the scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and high angle annular dark field (HAADF) imaging. The electron tomography is used in the biophysical study of cells to shed light on their internal processes.

Mechanisms of reduction of MoO3 to MoO2 reconciled?

Article Abstract:

The topotactic mechanism for the reduction of MoO3 to MoO2 is studied using well-supported experiments. The high quality in-situ Neutron Powder Diffraction (NPD) is used to monitor phase composition during the reduction of MoO3 in a flow of hydrogen at 550 degree Celsius.

Probing the nature of acetylene bound to the active site of a NiNa-zeolite Y catalyst by in situ neutron scattering

Article Abstract:

Interaction between a catalytic system and its substrate using neutron diffraction with isotopic substitution is reported. The experimental findings of neutron diffraction with isotopic substitution are supported and amplified by density functional calculations.
