Influence of hydrogen bond connectivity on transport properties

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze trehalose aqueous solutions using photon correlation spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The solutions were prepared by weight. Standard Ubbelohde viscometers were utilized for the viscosity measurements. Experimental results indicated a temperature and concentration dependence correlated with the making and breaking H-bond dynamics. Findings also showed excellent properties of trehalose in living cells.

Diffusive dynamics of water in the presence of homologous disaccharides: a comparative study by quasi elastic neutron scattering. IV

Article Abstract:

The dynamics of disaccharides in aqueous solutions and the role of their interaction with water, which may be responsible for the protective action on biological membranes and tissues, are studied using quasi elastic neutron scattering (QENS). Result highlights that trehalose may be responsible for slowing down the water dynamics by inducing a more extensive hydration layer.

Temperature evolution of the diffusive dynamics of disaccharide aqueous solutions by quasielastic neutron scattering

Article Abstract:

Quasielastic neutron scattering measurements have been performed, to investigate the dynamics of homologous disaccharide aqueous solutions. Neutron spectra have been collected by using the spectrometer OSIRIS at the ISIS pulsed neutron source of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
