Influence of thiol capping on the exciton luminescence and decay kinetics of CdTe and CdSe quantum dots

Article Abstract:

The capping of highly efficient TP/DDA-capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs) and TP/TOPO/HDA-capped CdSe QDs were exchanged with thiols containing different functional groups. Capping exchange with 4-mercaptophenol results in quenching of the exciton emission for both CdSe and CdTe QDs. This was explained by the high redox energy level of the thiol with respect to other investigated thiols.

Behavior of electrogenerated bases in room-temperature ionic liquids

Article Abstract:

The reductive electrochemistry of substituted benzophenones in the aprotic room-temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium bistriflimide occurs via two consecutive one-electron processes leading to the radical anion and dianion is presented.

Luminescence lifetime distributions analysis in heterogeneous systems by the use of Excel's Solver

Article Abstract:

The luminescence decay curves of pyrene included within p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene cavities and benzophenone into silicalite channels are studied. A simple and widely available tool for fitting, the Microsoft Excel Solver is used.
