Femtosecond optical switching of electron transport direction in branched donor-acceptor arrays

Article Abstract:

It has been shown that it is possible to control the direction of electron flow within a branched donor-acceptor array on the femtosecond scale. Excitation of the reduced acceptor group switches the system over to the second ion pair with a yield of 44% in toluene.

Influence on energetics and electronic coupling on through-bond and through-space electron transfer within U-shaped donor-bridge-acceptor arrays

Article Abstract:

A study of multistep electron transfer mechanisms within donor-bridge-acceptor arrays consisting of functionalized aromatic imide and diimide donors and acceptors arranged in a rodlike linear structures and in U-shaped folded structures on xanthene scaffolds, are presented. The influence of energetics and electronic coupling on electron transfer rates and mechanisms within a series of both linear and U-shaped donor-bridge acceptor arrays are examined.

Electron transfer in multiply bridged donor-acceptor molecules: Dephasing and quantum coherence

Article Abstract:

A simple theoretical treatment of nondiabatic electron transfer in multiply bridged donor-bridge-acceptor molecules using the density matrix formalism is presented. It is shown that pure dephasing could yield a coalescence or ortho, meta, and para effective coupling strengths and suggest a system to observe this effect experimentally.
