Interaction of nitric oxide with prostaglandin endoperoxide H synthase-1: implications for fe-his bond cleavage in heme proteins

Article Abstract:

Prostaglandin endoperoxide H synthase-1 and -2 (PGHS-1 and -2) catalyze the conversion of arachidonic acid and two molecules of oxygen to prostaglandin G (sub 2) (PGG) (sub 2). To obtain a better understanding of the peroxidase reaction, a detailed resonance Raman investigation of the structure and protein environment of ovine PGHS-1 is performed.

Interaction of nitric oxide with molecular adlayers adsorbed on Rh(111)

Article Abstract:

The interaction of nitric oxide (NO) with well-ordered carbon monoxide (CD) and ethylidyne (CCH3) overlayers chemisorbed on Rh(111) is studied. The CO adlayers indicate a greater propensity for the accommodation of the NO molecule in comparison with the CCH3 adlayer.

Multidimensional potential surfaces from the direct inversion of probability density and energy spectral data

Article Abstract:

Potential energy surfaces (PES) are valuable for understanding intra and intermolecular dynamics. The inversion algorithm is successfully simulated to extract the potential surfaces of several one- and two-dimensional model systems.
