Investigations into sulfobetaine-stabilized Cu nanoparticle formation: Toward development of a microfluidic synthesis

Article Abstract:

The mechanistic aspects of the formation of sulfobetaine-stabilized copper nanoparticles were investigated by using X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES), UV-vis spectroscopy, and reaction calorimetry. A microfluidic reactor process offers an alternate solution to traditional wet chemistry in order to control size and size-distribution of nanoparticles.

Dodecanethiol-protected copper/silver bimetallic noncluster and their surface properties

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of thiolated copper/silver bimetallic alloy nanoclusters through a liquid-phase method is demonstrated. The results show that spherical bimetallic nanoparticles of `4-6 nm are produced but that a galvanic exchange reaction has taken place such that surfaces of the prepared clusters are enriched with the less noble metal copper atoms.

Structure study and luminescence thermochromism in hexanuclear 6-methyl-2-pyridinethiolato copper(I) crystal

Article Abstract:

The structure of hexanuclear 6-methyl-2-pyridinethiolato copper(I) crystals is studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. These crystals show highly efficient luminescence whose color changes from red to green-blue with lowering temperature from room temperature (RT) to liquid nitrogen temperature (LNT).
