Ion-oligomer interactions in poly(ethylene glycol)400/(LiCl)x electrolyte complexes

Article Abstract:

A new anhydrous LiCl salt highly reactive to coordinating agents is prepared by reacting powdered metallic lithium with 1-chlorobutane. The product is then dissolved in poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with a molecular weight of 400 to create a series of PEG 400/(LiCl)x electrolytic complexes with 0 <= x <= 1.40665. It is shown that the PEG chain has a TGT type conformation and that Li+ ions are coordinated by the ethereal oxygens of the PEG ligand.

Dilute graphite-sulfates intercalation stages studied by simultaneous application of cyclic voltammetry, probe-beam deflection, in situ resistometry, and x-ray diffraction techniques

Article Abstract:

The intercalation mechanism observed in composite graphite electrodes during their cycling in dilute H2-SO4 solution is characterized. This is accomplished through the use of cyclic voltammetry, probe-beam deflection, in situ resistometry and x-ray diffraction methods. The stoichiometry, kinetics, and electronic resistivity of dilute graphite-sulfates intercalation compounds are also described.

Furocoumarin-oligonucleotide interaction: kinetics, selectivity, and mechanism of the furocoumarin photoaddition reaction to oligonucleotide intercalation sites

Article Abstract:

Research into the interaction and subsequent photoaddition reaction between furocoumarin derivatives and each active site in a series of suitable oligonucleotides is presented. It is possible to resolve the overall covalent photoaddition processes into the single kinetics events that arise at the level of base pairs.
