Ion-pair and solvent relaxation processes in aqueous Na2SO4 solutions

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on the association of sodium and sulfate ions in concentrated aqueous solutions in connection with a variety of chemical systems. A thorough dielectric resonance spectroscopic investigation of the Na2SO4/H2O system was undertaken and its results are discussed. This system is also a useful staring point for a systematic study of weak ion association in aqueous electrolytes because of the availability of the appropriate reference data.

Complexity in 'simpleE electrolyte solutions: ion pairing in MgSO4 (aq)

Article Abstract:

Detailed analysis of dielectric relaxation spectroscopy shows the simultaneous presence of double solvent separated (2 SIP), solvent-shares (SIP) and contact (CIP) ion pairs. The implications of the thermodynamic behavior of higher-valent electrolytes for quantitative models are discussed.
