Ionic liquid doped polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells

Article Abstract:

The ionic liquids of 1-metal-3-alkylimidazolium salts with different alkyl substituents are blended with MEH-PPV to fabricate polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), and the performance of the lECs are characterized by I-V, L-V, and ac impedance measurements. The compatibility of the ionic liquids with MEH-PPV is concluded to be related to the nature of the alkyl substituents in the 3 position of the imidazole ring.

[60]Fullerene-based molecular triads with expanded absorptions in the visible region: Synthesis and photovoltaic properties

Article Abstract:

Photoactive fulleropyrrolidine-perylenetetracarboxylic diimide-porphyrin triad and its zinc analogue (ZnFPP) with expanded absorptions in the visible spectral are synthesized. Steady absorption spectra and cyclic voltammmetry measurement showed rather weak electronic interactions among the component chromophores in the ground state within the triads.

Polymer photovoltaic devices fabricated with blend MEHPPV and organic small molecules

Article Abstract:

A series of commercial organic materials was blended into MEHPPV (poly[2-methoxy, 5-(2-ethylhexoxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene]) and used as electron acceptors in the polymer heterojunction photovoltaic cells and photodiodes. Electrochemical cyclic voltammetry (CV) was used to determine the acceptors' lowest unoccupied molecule orbit (LUMO) levels.
