Lamellar orientation in thin films of symmetric semicrystalline polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene-co-butene) block copolymers: effects of molar mass, temperature of solvent evaporation, and annealing

Article Abstract:

Atomic force microscopy, grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used for examining the orientation of the lamellar microdomains in thin films of three symmetric polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene-co-butylene) block copolymers on mica. Findings reveal the dependence of the lamellar orientation in the [S.sub.x][E.sub.y] block copolymers on the molar mass of block copolymers, the temperature of solvent evaporation and annealing.

Electrochemical variation of the energy level of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): Poly(styrenesulfonate)

Article Abstract:

Doping level of compact PEDT: PSS films can be adjusted by controlling the amount of charge infected during the electrochemical doping/redoping processes using tolusulfonic acid. By further investigation it was found that the OLEDs using electrochemically doped PEDT:PSS/ITO anodes show a significant reduction of operating voltage and improved device performance consistent with an increase of doping level of the polymer.

Dynamics of photoinduced electron transfer in a molecular donor-acceptor quartet

Article Abstract:

The electronic structures and dynamics of photoinduced charge separation and recombination in a new donor-acceptor quartet molecule with its bis-oligothiphene (BOTH) and bis-perylenediimide (BPDI) blocks attached to a benzene ring were described. Two different dynamics of charge separation and recombination associated with two types of donor-acceptor pair conformations in solution were seen.
