Large nonlinear absorption in coated Ag2S/CdS nanoparticles by inverse microemulsion

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the synthesis of coated Ag2S/CdS nanocomposites using a modified inverse microemulsion method. The water-in-oil was obtained by titrating the aqueous solution to a sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate-heptane solution in a screw-capped tube. Experimental results indicated the feasibility of using the modified inverse microemulsion technique in synthesizing nanocomposites.

Self-assembled monolayers of synthetic hemoproteins on silanized quartz

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the association between structure and function of complex natural heme proteins by synthesizing de novo simplified versions called maquettes. The maquettes were assembled on silanized quarts to define their structural and functional characteristics. Experimental results indicated that films of synthetic hemoproteins are sensitive to molecules dissolved in aqueous solutions.
