MALAYSIA: CRAY VALLEY BUYS DYNOMER

Article Abstract:

Cray Valley, active in India where it operates a polyester and coating resin production unit, and in South Korea where it produces compound, gel coat, unsaturated polyester, and vinylester, has reinforced its presence in this region. The company, the resin department of Atofina has taken over Dynomer from Finnish company, Nordkemi. Dynomer, based in Malaysia with EUR 20mn in turnover in 2000, is active in the coating and unsaturated polyester resin markets throughout Southeast Asia, in China and in the Middle East.

GERMANY/FRANCE: DU PONT, MULTIBASE IN TPE DEAL

Article Abstract:

Non-halogenated thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) based on Du Pont's Elvaloy NH4 and NH2 technologies will be developed, produced and distributed jointly by Du Pont de Nemours GmbH of Bad Homburg and Multibase of Saint-Laurent, France. The French plastics compounder gets the worldwide rights to the Du Pont technology, which allows combinations of different plastics. Through the deal Multibase expands its product range to cover thermoplastic vulcanised materials (TPV), which are used e.g. in the cosmetics, automotive and cable industries.

FRANCE: PATURLE BUYS 50% STAKE IN MULTIBASE

Article Abstract:

Multibase, based in Saint-Laurent-du-Pont (Isere departement) with a staff of 300, expects to turn over FFr 650mn in 2000. The plastics compound manufacturer used to be controlled on a 50:50 basis by Omya and Paturle, until the latter, based in the same town, bought its 50% stake from the former.
