Magnetic phase transition in a heteromolecular hydrogen-bonded complex of nitronylnitroxide radicals

Article Abstract:

An organic molecular acid-base complex is synthesized from pyridine-substituted biradical in a triplet ground state and a benzoic acid derivative of monoradical with S=1/2. The complex is the first example of a hydrogen-bonded heterospin, heteromolecular complex exhibiting a magnetic phase transition in purely organic molecule-based materials.

Multifrequency EPR study of metallofullerenes: Eu@C(sub 82) and Eu@(sub 74)

Article Abstract:

The cage structure of a family of europium metallofullerenes, Eu@C(sub 74) and three isomers or Eu@C(sub 82), were investigated. The semiphenomenological superposition-exchange model (SPEM) was invoked to examine a relationship between the molecular structures and zero-field splitting (ZFS) parameters.

Cytosine-substituted nitronylnitroxide radical: A key component for bio-inspired molecule-based magnetics

Article Abstract:

A cytosine-substituted nitronylnitroxide radical is synthesized. The nucleobase moiety plays a primary role in molecular packing in the crystal.
