Mechanism of ZnO nanotube growth by hydrothermal method on ZnO film-coated Si substrates

Article Abstract:

ZnO nanorods (NRs) and nanotubes (NTs) are synthesized by a hydrothermal method on Si substrates that was precoated by pulsed laser decomposition (PLD) with a thin ZnO film. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy and selected area electron diffraction analysis confirms that the NTs are ZnO single crystals and that their growth direction is along [0001], the c-axis.

Diffusionless crystal growth from glass has precursor in equilibrium liquid

Article Abstract:

The glass-crystal (GC) growth is studied by growing multiple crystal polymorphs from the liquid of ROY (5-methyl-2-[(2-nitrophenyl)amino]-3-thiophenecarbonitrile). The results have highlighted that the GC growth is enabled by molecular motions that are native to the glass but still persist in the viscous liquid.

Optical control of coherent lattice motions probed by femtosecond electron diffraction

Article Abstract:

The study on laser-induced coherent lattice motions using femtosecond electron diffraction is reported. The successful control of coherent lattice motions is demonstrated by using a pair of optical excitation pulses and varying their time delay and relative pulse intensities.
