Modeling the effect of hydration in zeolite Na(super +) - mordenite

Article Abstract:

A microscopic description of the effect of hydration on the behavior of extraframework cations in zeolite Na(super +) -mordenite is reported. The modeling was compared with experimental data obtained by dieletric relaxation spectroscopy. It is shown that the positions of the cations in the main channels are substantially perturbed upon the sorption of water molecules whereas those of the cations located in the small side channels are only slighty shifted.

Localization of water molecules and sodium ions in Na-mordenite, by thermally stimulated current measurement

Article Abstract:

Dielectric relaxation properties of dehydrated and hydrated Na-mordenite are measured by means of thermally stimulated depolarization current (TSDC) spectroscopy. TSDC spectroscopy allows to determine the site selectivity of sodium ions and water molecules, and the sodium/network interaction energy.

Combining the Monte Carlo technique with (super 29)Si NMR spectroscopy: Simulations of cation locations in zeolites with various Si/Al ratios

Article Abstract:

The monovalent cation positions in a zeolite with increasing Si/Al ratios are calculated from combination of Monte Carlo techniques and (super 29)Si NMR spectroscopy. The study shows that the locations of the cations are in agreement with the available X-ray diffraction data.
