Modified lithium borohydrides for reversible hydrogen storage

Article Abstract:

The feasibility of reducing the dehydrogenation temperature of lithium borohydride and moderating rehydrogenation conditions was explored in an attempt to develop lithium borohydrides as reversible hydrogen storage materials with high hydrogen storage capacities. The reversible hydrogen storage capacity of the oxide-modified lithium borohydrides decreased gradually during hydriding/dehydriding cycling and the additives reduced the dehydriding temperature and improved the reversibility but reduced the hydrogen storage capacity.

NMR study of cation, anion, and solvent mobilities in macroporous poly(vinylidene fluoride)

Article Abstract:

The mobilities of lithium, PF6 and solvents in the electrolyte LiPF6-(ethylene carbonate-dimethyl carbonate-diethyl carbonate) are measured using the pulsed gradient spin-echo NMR and they are compared to those of the same electrolyte filling a macroporous poly(vinylidene fluoride). The conductivity decrease resulting in the incorporation of this macroporous membrane and the cationic transport number are analyzed.

Spectroscopic measurements of ionic association in solutions of LiPF6

Article Abstract:

Infrared absorption spectroscopy was used for examining ionic association in nonaqueous electrolytes containing LiPF6. Strong interaction between solvent molecules and Li(super +) cations was observed in high dielectric solvents and ion pairs were formed by the penetration of a small fraction of the PF6- anions in the Li+ solvation shell.
