Molecular orientation in vacuum-deposited peralkyloligosilane thin films

Article Abstract:

Molecular orientation in vacuum-deposited thin films of linear oligosilanes MS10 and PrS10 by X-ray diffractometry and absorption spectroscopy are investigated. Two types of highly ordered multilayered structures, one with molecular orientation and the other with oblique orientation to the substrate is found in MS10 films at room temperature.

Annealing-induced molecular reorientation in oligosilane thin films

Article Abstract:

Annealing effects on molecular orientation and multilayer order in vacuum-deposited permethyldecasilane thin films are investigated with the help of X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and UV absorption spectroscopy t. An annealing-induced multilayered structure with the molecular orientation oblique to the substrate is observed by XRD.

Enhanced molecular separation in inclined thermogravitional columns

Article Abstract:

Inclining the column by an angle 0 can substantially increase molecular separation between the top and the bottom in a thermogravitional column. Experiments on the water-ethanol system are performed that support this view.
