Molecular simulation of the free surface order in NLC samples

Article Abstract:

The current versus voltage computations have recently disclosed an unusual pattern of the electric conductivity within some nematic liquid crystals (NLC) samples. The contestation of a local monitor enforced by free surfaces with the homeotropic alignment enforced by electrodes of the nematic cell is explained.

Role of delocalized electrons in polyaniline nematogen cyanobiphenyls interaction

Article Abstract:

Applying on electric field across anematic liquid crystal display changes the texture of the thin nematic film but when the field is switched off, within seconds, the texture relaxes to the initial one. Experimental evidence that very fast relaxation times could appear in some particular cases is reported.

Orientational order of a liquid crystal with three chiral centers by a combined [super 13]C NMR and DFT approach

Article Abstract:

[super 13]C NMR spectroscopy is used for investigating the liquid crystal (S)-2-methylbutyl-[4'-(4''-heptyloxyphenyl)-benzoyl-4-oxy-(S)-2-((S)-2')-benzoyl)-propionyl)]-propionate (ZLL 7/*). The orientational order parameters are discussed by considering different data analysis approaches.
