Monolayer behavior and Langmuir-Blodgett manipulation of CdS quantum dots

Article Abstract:

Cadmium sulfide (CdS) quantum dots (QDs) were prepared and surface modified by dodecanthiol or mercaptosuccinic acid (MSA) to render a surface with alkyl chains ([C.sub.12]-CdS) or carboxylic acid groups (MSA-CdS), respectively. The result shows that [C.sub.12]-CdS QDs are not able to spread homogeneously at the air/liquid interface, while the CTAB-MSA-CdS QDs spread uniformly on the subphase and form a 2D particulate monolayer.

Preparation, characterization, and optical, electrochemical property research of CdS/PAM nanocomposites

Article Abstract:

CdS/PAM nanocomposites were successfully synthesized in situ through an ultrasound-assisted route under ambient condition. The CdS/PAM nanocomposites had a stronger ability to promote electron transfers between Hb and the Au electrode than CdS nanoparticles prepared under the same conditions and there are distinct differences in the photoluminescence and UV-vis spectra of the pure CdS and CdS/PAM nanocomposites.

Electron-hole dynamics in CdTe tetrapods

Article Abstract:

Transient absorption studies with fematosecond time resolution on the electron-hole dynamics in CdTe tetrapod nanostructures are described. Electron-hole pairs are generated by optical excitation in the visible spectral range, and an immediate bleach and induced absorption signal are observed.
