Optical properties of metal nanoshells

Article Abstract:

Presenting a combination of theory and experiment designed to elucidate the properties of gold nanoshells. TEM results indicate that the shell is not continuous, resulting in pinhole (several nm) structures.

Nanosphere lithography: effect of the external dielectric medium on the surface plasmon resonance spectrum of a periodic array of silver nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Research into the extinction spectra of nanofabricated silver particles found they were very sensitive to the dielectric properties of the surrounding medium. Discrete dipole approximation is used for theoretical calculations.
