New heterogeneous chemical oscillators: Reduction of manganese species by hypophosphite on a Pt surface

Article Abstract:

The family of heterogeneous oscillators that does not fit into heterogeneous solid-gas and solid-liquid oscillatory chemical systems is reported. The potential of a Pt vs reference electrode pair oscillates with an amplitude of 300-400 mV, in an aqueous solution containing manganese species of higher oxidation states and sodium hypophosphite, without any imposed external current or voltage.

Optical and surface structural properties of Mn(super 2+)-doped ZnSe nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The method of Cumberland that can be adapted to prepare Mn(super 2+)- doped ZnSe nanoparticles is demonstrated. The results stated that a uniform and homogenous distribution of Mn(super 2+) in the nanoparticle was not achieved; consequently, the Mn(super 2+) ions lie toward the surface of the nanoparticles and possibly occupy two different sites in the nanoparticle lattice.

Franck-Condon modes in Sr2MnWO6 double perovskite

Article Abstract:

The polarization resonance Raman scattering data revealed two different series of Franck-Condon modes in double perovskite Sr2MnWO6 single crystals. The lattice distortion has been estimated from the observed Franck-Condon peak positions and intensities.
