New insights on anion recognition by isomers of a calix pyrrole derivative

Article Abstract:

The enthalpy parameter, which might be suitable reporter of the number of hydrogen bonds formed when calix[4]pyrrole and its derivatives interacting with the dihydrogen phosphate anion in acctomitrile is shown. The importance of the medium effect on the stability of the complex is investigated and the inherent nature of the solvent and its highly significant involvement in the complexation process is reflected.

Anion complexation by calix[3]thienol[1]pyrrole: The medium effect

Article Abstract:

A detailed thermodynamic investigation of anion complexation including calix[3]thieno[1]pyrrole in different dipolar aprotic media CN, N-dimethylformamide, DMF, dimethylsulfoxide, DMSO at 298.15 k is discussed. The thermodynamics of transfer of reactants and product from a reference solvent to other solvents are used to interpret the data.

Double-cavity calix[4]pyrrole derivative with enhanced capacity for the fluoride anion

Article Abstract:

A double-cavity calix[4]pyrrole derivative, meso-tetramethyl-tetra[N-(2-phenoxyethyl)-N'-phenylurea]calix[4]pyrrole with enhanced hosting ability for the fluoride anion is designed and characterized. The importance of structural information for the interpretation of the thermodynamics is illustrated.
