Optical absorption and valence band photoemission from uncapped CdTe nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

Single-phase CdTe nanocrystals with zinc blend structure that were synthesized by using mechanical alloying of the elemental Cd and Te mixture powders for 27h is described. The quantum confinement effect of uncapped CdTe nanocrystals can be obtained by blue shifts of valence band maximum energy and absorption peaks that have decreasing particle size.

Role of the anion in the underpotential deposition of cadmium on a Rh(111) electrode: Probed by voltammetry and in situ scanning tunneling microscopy

Article Abstract:

The underpotential deposition (UPD) of cadmium on a rhodium (111) electrode in d is examined with the help of in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM)) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Only one ordered structure characterized as (6*6) in H2SO4 and (2*2) in HCl was produced by the deposition of Cd.

High-resolution electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (EC-STM) flow-cell studies

Article Abstract:

A report on the use of a flow-cell for in-situ STM studies of the EC-AlE process is described. A new starting cycle improving the quality of deposits formed via EC-ALE is also developed.
