Orientational behavior of single molecules in molecular sieves: A study of oxazine dyes in AIPO(sub 4)-5 crystals

Article Abstract:

Three differently sized oxazine dye molecules, oxazine-1, oxazine-170 and oxazine-750, with molecular widths of 0.85, 1.0 and 1.1 mm are constructed into the one-dimensional pores of AIPO(sub 4)-5 with a pore diameter of 0.73 nm during a template assisted synthesis. The findings indicate that there is a structure directing influence of the host on the guest molecules in dependence of their size, even if the molecule is larger than the pore size.

Physicochemical investigations of the basicity of the cation exchanged ETS-10 molecular sieves

Article Abstract:

FTIR studies of Pt supported on alkali-metal-exchanged molecular sieves (M-ETS-10, M=Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, and Ba) after CO2 adsorption at room temperature (RT) is reported, Catalytic activity of Pt supported on M-ETS-10 for n-hexane conversion to benzene increases with the basicity of the support and the same is correlated with the FTIR, TPD, and XPS results.

Role of manganese oxide octahedral molecular sieves in styrene epoxidation

Article Abstract:

Manganese oxide octahedral molecular sieves having 2 x 2 tunnel structure (OMS-2) and synthesized by different methods were used for studying styrene oxidation with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) as the oxidant. The results of styrene oxidation reveal that acidity coupled with high porosity play a crucial role in these catalytic reactions.
