Periodic Marangoni instability in surfactant (CTAB) liquid/liquid mass transfer

Article Abstract:

The periodic Marangoni convective instability is examined in a biphasic system during the mass transfer of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) from an aqueous to a dichloromethane organic phase. Details of the surface tension and electrical potential oscillations that are shown to correlate with the fluid motion are discussed.

Correlation between electric potential and interfacial tension oscillations in a water-oil-water system

Article Abstract:

The oscillations of the electric potential and of the interfacial tension are simultaneously recorded in a water-oil-water system. The experimental results show that the electric potential and the surface tension oscillations in the U-tube configuration are perfectly correlated and synchronized.

Molecular dynamics study of the stabilization of the silica hexamer [Si.sub.6][O.sub.15.sup.6-] in aqueous and methanolic solutions

Article Abstract:

The stabilizations of the hexameric, cagelike silicate with double three-ring structure in aqueous and methanolic solutions in presence of tetraethylammonium (TEA) cations are demonstrated.
