Photocatalytic properties of porous metal oxide networks formed by nanoparticle infiltration in a polymer gel template

Article Abstract:

The experiments were done on the formation of inorganic networks with high porosity by infiltration of nanoparticles in a porous gel template. The results show that the addition of the titania decreased the amount of the rutile crystalline phase in the final structure and increased the network surface area, resulting in the enhancement of the photocatalytic activity.

Polymer controlled morphosynthesis and mineralization of metal carbonate superstructures

Article Abstract:

The structure formation process of various metal carbonate minerals such as CaCO3, BaCO3, CdCO3, MnCO3 and PbCO3 using double hydrophilic block copolymers (DHBCs) is examined. The results found that the inhibition ability of the DHBCs was lost for CaCO3 when the ionic strength was increased by adding NaCl to the system but prevailed for the Ba species.

Crystallization in miniemulsion Droplets

Article Abstract:

Dynamic crystallization and melting experiments were performed in small, stable and narrowly distributed nandroplets of miniemulsions, the regular and inverse systems were also examined. It showed that in both cases the temperature of crystallization in such droplets is significantly decreased as compared to the bulk material.
