Photocatalytic water splitting into H2 and O2 over R3TaO7 and R3NbO7 (R = Y, Yb, Gd, La): effect of crystal structure on photocatalytic activity

Article Abstract:

R3TaO7 and R3NbO7 (R = rare earth-Y, Yb, Gd, or La) systems were chosen as photocatalyst for water splitting to investigate the effect of crystal structure of semiconductor materials on the photocatalytic activity. The results indicate the significant influence of crystal structure on the photocatalytic activity of the oxide semiconductor materials.

Use of luminescence probing for the study of the interaction of polytitannasiloxane with trivalent rare earth ions

Article Abstract:

Luminescent probing methods are used to investigate the interaction of the Ti-O chains of polytitanasiloxane with europium ions in the mixture of ethanol and water. The results have shown that the incorporation of tetrabutyl titanate (TBT) has increased the absorption energy of the Ti-O group by near-ultraviolet (UV) excitation.

Time-resolved study of luminescence in LiGd1-Xf4:Eu(power 3+)(sub x)

Article Abstract:

Radiative and energy-transfer processes in LiGd1-Xf4:Eu(power 3+)(sub x) are studied by time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy. The luminescence lifetimes of Gd(power 3+) ([power 6]P[sub 7/2]) and Eu(power 3+) ([power 5]D[sub o]) were estimated to be ca. 1.5 ms and ca. 8ms, respectively.
