Precursor-induced hydrothermal synthesis of flowerlike cupped-end microrod bundles of ZnO

Article Abstract:

A study hydrothermally synthesized flowerlike cupped-end ZnO microrod bundles from precursor ZnCl(sub 2-)(N2H4)2 in sheet shape at 140 degrees Celsius for 12 h. Uniform ZnO nanorods were obtained, using the same precursor rod shape under the same conditions, indicating that the shape of the precursor played a very important role in the final morphology of the ZnO sample.

Synthesis of large-size diamonds by reduction of dense carbon dioxide with alkali metals (K,Li)

Article Abstract:

A low-temperature diamond growth-process is illustrated, in which diamond as large as 450 mu m can be prepared at 460 degree C by reduction of dense carbon dioxide with metallic potassium. It is found that the alkali metal with the lowering melting point could result in higher-yield production of diamonds with larger size.

Fe3O4 nanocrystals with novel fractal

Article Abstract:

Fe3O4 novel fractal nanocrystals are synthesized using a surfactant-assisted solvothermal process. The side-branching process and the oscillation of the concentration are proposed to illustrate the formation mechanisms of the fractal nanocrystals.
