Preparation and characterization of straight and zigzag AIN nanowires

Article Abstract:

The hexagonal single-crystal aluminum nitride nanowires with straight or zigzag morphologies were successfully synthesized by the reaction of aluminum alloy in an ammonia atmosphere at 1100 degree Celsius. The results indicated that the crystal tropism of the nanowires is along [0001] whereas the growth direction of the zigzag nanowires shift between [2111] and [2111].

Low-temperature synthesis of single crystalline Ag2S nanowires on silver substrates

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of silver sulfide (Ag2S) nanowires by a simple and mild gas-solid reaction approach is reported. The result reveals the thinning and cutting of individual Ag2S nanowires with electron beams and laser beams which are potentially useful for nanowires manipulation and engineering.

Fractal and dendritic growth of metallic Ag aggregated from different kinds of gama-irradiated solutions

Article Abstract:

Metallic Ag with different dispersed states and particle sizes was obtained with gama-irradiation on AgNO3 dissolved in deionized water, ethanol, and 0.01 M C12H25NaSO4. Further, the mechanism of different patterns is illustrated.
