Proton conduction in porous silica glasses with high water content

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to characterize the preparation of silica glasses supporting high surface areas by the sol-gel technique. Cole-Cole plots were utilized to determine the conductivity. A nitrogen gas sorption analyzer was then used to obtain the surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution of the heated samples. Experimental results indicated that increases in electrical conductivity correlated with increases in the logarithm of water concentration.

Ion conduction and polymer dynamics of poly(2-vinylpyridine)-lithium perchlorate mixtures

Article Abstract:

Broadband dielectric spectroscopy is used for examined the ion conduction and polymer dynamics of homogeneous mixtures of poly(2-vinylpyridine) (P2VPy) with lithium perchlorate (LiCl[O.sub.4]). Partial decoupling between ion motion and the segmental relaxation is observed at relatively high LiCl[O.sub.4] concentration, thus leading to increased conductivity.

Application of surface photovoltage technique to the determination of conduction types of azo pigment films

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to determine the pn conduction type of organic semiconductors using the surface photovoltage spectrum (SPS) and field-induced surface photovoltage spectrum (FISPS). The phenomena are fully discussed based on the energy band modes of the Fermi levels of these materials.
