Pulsed and continuous wave acrylic acid radio frequency plasma deposits: Plasma and surface chemistry

Article Abstract:

The solid-phase and plasma-phase chemistry in the pulsed plasma deposition of acrylic acid is studied using surface analytical and plasma diagnostics tools. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is used to determine the surface chemistry of plasma-polymerized acrylic acid deposits, quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) to measure mass deposition rate, mass spectrometry to determine the energy and Langmuir probe to find the plasma density, temperature and potential.

Grafting nitrilotriacetic groups onto carboxylic acid-terminated self-assembled monolayers on gold surfaces for immobilization of histidine-tagged proteins

Article Abstract:

A common intermediate method is illustrated for the generation of nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA)-presenting surfaces on gold by coupling an NTA-containing amine [(1S0-N-(5-amino-1-carboxypentyl)iminodiacetic acid; NTA-NH2] with the COOH group on gold, followed by a Ni(II) complexation for the immobilization of His-tagged protein onto surfaces. Preliminary experiments on the binding of His-tagged proteins onto the surfaces are also performed.

Periodic mesoporous organosilicas with Im3m symmetry and large isocyanurate bridging groups

Article Abstract:

Adsorption and structural properties of periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) with Im3m symmetry (SBA-16) and large heterocyclic bridging groups in cage-like mesopores are assessed. The bridging group consists of isocyanurate ring integrated with three trimethyloxysilyls through flexible propyl chains and the PMO possess high total pore volume and high surface area.
