Pulsed-field gradient and saturation transfer difference NMR study of enkephalins in the ganglioside GM1 micelle

Article Abstract:

The hydrodynamic properties of enkephalins in the presence of a potential intermediate receptor, ganglioside GM1, are investigated and the components that take a major role in the peptide-lipid binding are identified. The results indicate that the direct interaction between neuropeptide enkephalins and ganglioside GM1 are mainly through the central two residues of the peptides indicating a hydrophobic interaction.

Short-range structure of a GM3 ganglioside membrane: Comparison between experimental WAXS and computer simulation results

Article Abstract:

The wide-angle X-ray spectrum of the local structure of a GM3 ganglioside bilayer, which was reconstructed from molecular dynamics simulations, is studied. Findings showed good correlation between distinct head groups, contributing to the total scattering intensity.

Interactions of trifluoroethanol with [[val.sup.5]]angiotensin II

Article Abstract:

The examination of the interaction of trifluoroethanol (TFE) with the octapeptide hormone [[val.sup.5]]angiotensin II (asp-arg-val-tyr-val-his-pro-phe), an analogue of angiotensin II in which valine at position 5 replaces the usual isoleucine residue is reported.
