Radicals from one-electron oxidation of 4-aminoresorcinol: models for the active site radical intermediate in copper amine oxidases

Article Abstract:

Pulse radiolysis, laser flash photolysis, and time-resolved resonance Raman spectroscopy are used to study radicals derived by one-electron oxidation of 4-aminoresorcinol as models for the active site free-radical intermediate in the catalytic cycle of copper amine oxidases containing the trihydroxyphenylalanine (TOPA) quinone cofactor.

Molecular packing of long-chain n-alkanes in the MCM-41 nanochannel as probed by the free radicals produced by gamma-irradiation

Article Abstract:

By observing the ESR spectra of alkyl radicals formed by radiolysis, the physical states of long-chain n-alkane molecules in the nanochannel of MCM-41, mesoporous silica were studied. It was observed that long chain alkanes cannot form the regular crystals in the MCM-41 nanochannel, whose diameter is a few nanometers.

Oxygen plasma generated copper/copper oxides nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The oxygen plasma generated CuO(sub x) enhanced the hole injection into organic hole-transport layer (HTL). The analysis by X-ray diffraction pattern and Fourier transform infrared spectrum demonstrated that CuO(sub x) was a mixture of copper and copper oxides.
