Reaction pathways of acetylene on Pd/W(211): a TPD and HREELS investigation

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine acetylene cyclization and hydrogenation on Pd/W(211). Acetylene was purified using a dry ice/acetone cooled trap. Its purity was then evaluated using mass spectrometry. Results indicated that the cyclotrimerization reaction generated three benzene desorption states. Findings also confirmed the effectiveness of high-resolution electron energy-loss spectroscopy in obtaining data about the reaction mechanisms of acetylene on Pd/W(211) surfaces.

Ionization and solvation of CsCl interacting with solid water

Article Abstract:

The interaction of CsCl with solid water, deposited on tungsten at 130 K, is investigated using metastable impact electron spectroscopy (MIES) and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). Above the critical stoichiometry, besides water, Cl and Cs species are found in the top layer, indicating that the migration of CsCl species are largely suppressed.
