Replica Ornstein-Zernike equations and simulations of the structure of a simple fluid in disordered porous media. Application to monomolecular adsorption

Article Abstract:

The molecular structure of a simple fluid adsorbed in a disordered porous medium was investigated using a two-dimensional model based on the replica Ornstein-Zernike equations with the hypernetted chain and Percus-Yevick approximations. Monte Carlo simulations for the proposed model were also presented. The structural properties of the resulting adsorbed monolayer are in excellent agreement with the computer simulation data. The fluid compressibility from the replica Ornstein-Zernike equations and the adsorption isotherms was obtained.

Molecular orientation, aggregation, and order in rhodamine films at the fused silica/air interface

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted relating to photophysical and photochemical research on the optical characteristics of a broad range of molecules in different physical and chemical environments. Linear and nonlinear optical measurements of an organic probe molecule deposited at the solid/air interface were conducted to help characterize the degree of ordering in organic thin films, specifically rhodamine 6G spin coated on fused silica. Results of the study are discussed.

Optical second harmonic generation study of malachite green orientation and order at the fused-silica/air interface

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning optical second harmonic generation and absorbance studies of the cationic dye molecule MG, spin-cast on fused silica, are discussed. The concentration dependence of the second harmonic response indicates the formation of ordered monolayers.
