Revealing long-range density fluctuations in dialkylmidazolium chloride ionic liquids by dynamic light scattering

Article Abstract:

The structures and dynamics of ionic liquids of 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolim chloride ([AMIM][Cl]) and 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([BMIM][Cl]) are studied by using dynamic light scattering with polarized and depolarized geometries. The molecules of these ionic liquids have not only aggregated to form dynamic clusters but have also formed dynamic networks in the supercooled state and the heterogeneities might be present at temperatures higher than the melting points.

Condensation activation and nucleation in heterogeneous aerosol nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Some of the specific behaviors for condensation activation of heterophilic aerosol nanoparticles were theoretically analyzed, based on a model of double-barrier nucleation (DBM) with an emphasis on scale and super saturation effects. The results were used to provide a qualitative interpretation of experimental data on the transformation of the initial size distribution spectrum of nanoparticles in a turbulent mixing condensation nuclei counter.

Fabrication of single-crystalline semiconductor CdS nanobelts by vapor transport

Article Abstract:

The vapor-phase transport process was used in the large-scale fabrication of the single-crystalline CdS nanobelts. The optoelectronic nanodevices and nanosize sensors can be fabricated, due to the special beltlike morphology, along the individual CdS nanobelts.
