Selective effect of guest molecule length and hydrogen bonding on the supramolecular host surface

Article Abstract:

A host supramolecular structure consisting of bis-(2,2':6',2"-terpyridine)-4'-oxyhexadecane(BT-O-C16) is shown to respond to guest molecules in many ways. The study reveals that small linear molecules can be encapsulated within the host supramolecular lattice and host structure flexibility is achieved through adjusting bonding of host supramolecular structure.

Chemical interactions in the surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering of ruthenium polypyridyl complexes

Article Abstract:

Surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) from the alpha-dimine complexes [Ru(bpm)(sub 3)](super 2+) and [Ru(bpz)(sub 3)](super 2+) is reported at a roughened silver electrode. The SERRS spectra of [Ru(spm)(sub 3)](super 2+) were found to change slightly with a change in applied potential.

Improved description of the surface acidity of eta-alumina

Article Abstract:

The interaction of pyridine with the catalyst is examined by investigating the surface acidity of an activated eta-alumina catalyst. The surface structure of the activated catalyst is redefined as comprising weak, medium-weak, medium-strong, strong Lewis acid sites.
