Series approach to modeling ion size effects for symmetric electrolytes in the diffuse double layer

Article Abstract:

The study employs an analytical model for a simple and effective approach towards studying the potential drop and differential capacity across the diffuse double layer that considers the effects of ion size on these properties. The results show that in order to gain a better insight into the double layer, the effects of unequal ion size, change in solvent permittivity, as well as the ionic images formed in the electrode also need to be considered.

Properties of water solutions of electrolytes and nonelectrolytes

Article Abstract:

The measurements of freezing point depression, boiling point elevation, and vapor and osmotic pressures to obtain information about the nature of water solutions and hydration numbers are discussed. Hydration numbers obtained from freezing point depression, boiling point elevation, and vapor and osmotic pressures are in agreement with values obtained by different techniques.

Strain and energy efficiency of polyaniline fiber electrochemical actuators in aqueous electrolytes

Article Abstract:

The electrochemical linear actuation of polyaniline fiber actuators in a variety of aqueous acidic electrolytes is studied. The difference between the theoretical and experimental results suggests that due to the crystalline structure, not all exchanged charge contribute to the fiber expansion.
