Side-chain polymer liquid crystals containing oxadiazole and amine moieties with carrier-transporting abilities for single-layer light-emitting diodes

Article Abstract:

Side-chain polymer liquid crystals (PLC) containing oxadiazole (OXD) as an electron-transporting unit and amine moiety as a hole transporting unit showed stable LC behavior in comparison with the low-molecular-weight OXD analogues. It was further investigated that polymer combines carrier-transporting and emission properties in a single species, the polymer possessing OXD and amine moieties in the same side chain shows no inhibitory effect on the carrier-transporting abilities

Electro-generated chemiluminescence mechanism of polymer solution light-emitting devices

Article Abstract:

The light-emission mechanism of the SLEDS by cyclic voltammetry, transient electroluminescence measurement, current-light-voltage measurement, and the optical microscopy observation on a surface cell SLED, is studied. It is concluded that the mechanism of SLED is due to the ECL process and on application of a bias, one species is reduced at the cathode and the other species is oxidized at the anode.

Novel electroactive and photoactive molecular materials based on conjugated donor-acceptor structures for optoelectronic device applications

Article Abstract:

Four donor-acceptor functionalized molecular materials with symmetrical structures are synthesized and investigated for their use in optoelectronic applications. These materials exhibit multifunctional properties, such as a red light-emitting behavior and a large photovoltaic effect.
