Simple approaches to quality large-scale tungsten oxide nanoneedles

Article Abstract:

A systematic study of large-scale production of highly crystalline W18O49 nanoneedles with high aspect ratios using a simple tungsten metal reacting with water at 800-1000 degree Celsius are described. W18049 crystals with diverse morphologies are generated, and needles with desired dimensions are are achieved by altering the W source and other experimental conditions.

Synthesis of novel nanostructures by metal-polytetrafluoroethene thermolysis

Article Abstract:

Novel ceramic and carbon nanostructures are created by thermolysis of mixtures containing polytetrafluoroethene (PTFE) and a pure metal or metal alloy in a calorimetric bomb. The influence of the stoichiometry was studied for Si-containing reactants for which the yield of the nanofibers was the highest.

Combustion synthesis as a novel method for production of 1-D SiC nanostructures

Article Abstract:

The influence of the operating parameters on 1-D SiC formation yield was studied. The study enlarged the family of nanofibers and nanotubes available and offered a possible, new general route to 1-D crystalline materials.
